'BJP conspiracy to defame Bengal': Abhishek Banerjee on Sandeshkhali row
As the country gears up to celebrate the Holi festival on Monday, Eastern Railway has announced the cancellation of numerous local trains across Sealdah and Howrah divisions. This decision comes in light of ongoing line maintenance work at the Burdwan station complex of the Howrah-Burdwan branch on Sunday, leading to the cancellation of 14 local trains on the affected routes. Additionally, 234 local trains in the Sealdah division and 65 local trains in Howrah have been suspended in anticipation of reduced passenger turnout on the day of Holi.
Despite the statewide holiday observed during Holi, many individuals rely on train travel for various purposes, including business, medical emergencies, and family visits. The cancellations are expected to impact commuters, necessitating prior planning and awareness among travelers. Eastern Railway urges passengers to stay informed about the cancellations and make alternate travel arrangements if necessary to avoid inconvenience during the festive period.
